Chess : The Game Of Awareness and Forecasting.
Hey Guys,
In today's blog, we will explore some practical ways on how to increase our conscience and awareness. The Game of Chess best describes the qualities of expanded vision and sharper intellect. By playing chess, you develop your ability to predict the possible events occuring in future and how you can make strategies outplay them!
1. History of Chess.
Evidences show that stone boards and chess pieces were found in Lothal and Dholavira excavations. They were found 1400 years old and is believed to be invented during the Gupta Dynasty. But the Ramayana also claims some incident where Ravana is playing 'Asthapada' with his wife Mandodari. The Game of Chess was called Chaturanga and this is because the game consists of four major parts i.e Knight, Bishop, Rook and King. Kings and the commanders played chess to improve their strategy making and tactical skills. Then the game was spread in Persia where the 'Shahs' or 'Landlords' played it. From there, I don't know how, but came the name 'chess' and the word 'Check Mate' is originally the word 'Shah Mat' where the Shah is 'Mat' or 'lost'. Eventually, the game was all over the world.
2. Beauty of Chess.
Chess is a game of 16 white pieces and 16 black pieces with 64 black and white squares. Each piece has its own skill and capacity. You have to keep developing your pieces and to cover the opponent's king with your pieces in such a way that the king cannot move and is dead.
The number of possible unique chess games is much greater than the number of electrons in the universe. The number of electrons is estimated to be about 10^79, while the number of unique chess games is 10^120.
From the starting position, there are eight different ways to Mate in two moves and 355 different ways to Mate in three moves!
Chess is often cited by psychologists as an effective way to improve memory function. Also allowing the mind to solve complex problems and work through ideas, it is no wonder that chess is recommended in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Some contend that it can increase one’s intelligence, though that is a more complex topic. The effects of chess on young individuals had led to chess being introduced in school districts and various countries. It has been shown to improve children’s grades and other positive effects as well.
Play Chess once for all and you'll know its geometrical beauty. I wonder if the 8×8 chess board is so complex, then how much complex this infinitely large universe will be?
To end our blog, here is my last chess fact -
Over 600,000,000 people in the world know how to play chess. Do you?
Thanks.
Happy New Year from Daksh Parekh.
See you all next year :)
