Infinite Intellects :- Sant Kabirdas
Have you ever thought what's the greatest treasure a human can have? That treasure must be internal treasure which never gets empty and always stays with us. That treasure my friends is 'Clarity'.
Think about it. Whatever problems you have in your life, you just don't have enough clarity to solve them!
What Knowledge does to our mind?
It brings Clarity. This is why we talk about knowledge everytime, to have utmost of clarity.
Thus, in todays blog, we will talk about someone whose life itself shows how much clarity he reflected. We will talk about Sant Kabirdas in our today's Infinite Intellects series.
Talking about Sant Kabirdas without mentioning his Dohas ( Poems ) is like talking about stars without mentioning its shining. In this Blog, I have compiled his life and works in my top 3 personal favourite Dohas of Kabirji.
1. जाति न पूछो साधु कि, पूछ लो थोडा ज्ञान |
मोल करो तलवार कि, पडी रहन् दो म्यान ||
Never ask a monk his caste, instead, ask some knowledge. If you really want to judge, you must judge the sword, and not its cover.
I really love this Doha. Obviously, these days there are very rare chances you get to meet monks so its too far to ask him his caste. If you get to meet one, leave everything aside about him and just seek his knowledge.
Also, in today's world, we all really have a deadly virus in our mentalities is that we all judge everyone by their looks and by their body. Can you ever judge the sharpness a sword by its outer covering? Can you ever judge the taste of fruit by its looks? Hell no.
If so, then we all know that oranges and potatoes both are spherical in shape. Still they have a huge difference in taste. Considering anything equal just by its appearance is just a blunt, absurd and self contradictory idea. Even a stone is spherical, did you ever mistook it as a fruit? Physical appearance need NOT necessarily describe EVERYTHING.
2. माला फेरत जुग भुया, फिरा न मन का फेर |
कर का मनका डार दे, मन का मनका फेर ||
Centuries may be passed just turning the rosary beads ( Maala ) but still you may not turn your mind's beads ( Man ka manka ).
You should leave turning of your hand beads but instead should turn your 'thoughts' beads.
This is the pity of religious seekers that they're so blind in turning just rosary beads that they never really change their rusty ideologies and never rise above consciously.
If you really want existential changes in yourself then you're ought to be the most gentle, most kind and most energetic person. A real spiritual seeked must always strive for perfection in himself and his surroundings too. The real fun is NOT in chanting god's name. It is in improving his creation.
If you want to grow a rose plant in your garden, will you chant its name everyday? Will you sing its glories around it? You have to simply water the plant!
Only a lunatic thinks that just by muttering God's name he will attain perfection. Believe me, there is no one up there sitting on a golden throne crying and asking for your Bhakti. How come you pour milk to a shivlinga if hundreds of beggars are OUTSIDE the temple weeping for food!
Don't just turn rosary beads. Have the power to turn this creation. Godliness is in the service of needy. The best help to the creator is only in improving his own creation!
3. हिन्दु कहे मोहू राम प्यारा, तुर्क कहे रहमना |
आपस मे दोउ लडी लडी मुए, मर्म न कोउ जाना ||
The Hindu says my Rama is the supreme one, The Turk ( Muslim ) believes in Rahmana,
In this difference they fight and die,
But none really understood the true meaning.
This DIVINE Doha of Sant Kabira conveys a great messege. It is that communial differences only end up in division and violence. They take us absolutely nowhere. In all the religious debates, none really can understand the true essence of religion and knowledge.
There is a story of Sant Kabirdasji.
When he announced that he is going to die soon, all the Hindus started saying that he will have a cremation ( Agnidaah ) and all the Muslims started saying that he will have a burial ( Dafan Kriya ) instead. Kabirji was so dear and so close to every sect of people that all the sects started quarreling whether he should be cremated or buried.
When Kabira actually left his body,
All the Hindus and Muslims found a red shawl. When they lifted the shawl inside the shawl there were Red and Pink Rose Petals instead of Kabira's body!
Even in his last breathes,
He left this world by delivering his last messege. It was that true divinity is BEYOND every religion, every dogma, every doctrine. Various Religions are just the resultants of various wise people who once for all conveyed the same messege!!
Britishers too took advantage of our division. Even now many political agendas are carried out on religious heatups.
Swamiji once said,
" To uplift this nation, we need a Hindu Mind,
Islam body and Islam brotherhood,
Christian Kindness and Christian Devotion."
I would not comment on this any further. I cannot go beyond this. I hope you understood and digested Sant Kabira's messege and his clarity.
Thank You,
Daksh Parekh.
