Is English Language Overhyped? Philosophy of Languages.
Namaste Beloved Readers,
Today we will understand languages, specifically, the language that you're currently reading. Today we will gloom into the very essence of languages and why exactly is English Language gaining so much matter.. To such an extent, that in India, if you literally speak nonsense, but in English, then you're a gentlemen. Even if you're a fool, uttering two or three high-levelled English words will make you a "polished" fool; it will make you a fancy fool, a modern idiot. Such is the 'pomp' of English language nowadays in India.
1. Languages and Human Progress.
Well, it was our socialisation that made humans progress. It was our internal integrity that made us a united society. In nature, we see everything intervowen to each other, dependent on each other. In our case, it is our unity and social integrity that makes human civilization progress. From which point in history did we humans started making progress?
It was when we developed our ways to COMMUNICATE. Our ability to talk to each other and communicate made our societies more transparent, strong and constructive.
It is through perfect mastery in communication that an individual can express his ideas the best. Look at the business people around you. How sweet their words are! How elegant their communication is! Thanks to their mastery in words, they can literally sell you rocks and stones lying in the streets.. This is the power of language. It can alter anyone's mind.
This is the simple math, in this history of humankind, the more our grip on communication, the more we socialize, and the more we socialize, the more ideas in sum total. It is better to have 1000 opinions instead of having 1 concrete idea. Isn't it?
2. What's the deal with English Language?!
Britishers were madmans. Thanks to their insane ambitions to expand, they just jumped on a boat and conquered the entire world, still leaving their marks, and specially their language - English. Do you now get why English is so pumped up everywhere?
Brits left no country to conquer in the past, especially the Asian countries. Thus, you still find that English has literally become a UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE.
3. Final Take-Away.
Yes, Britishers left English language as their eternal mark on many many countries including India. Yes, we willingly adopted it too. Now, envisioning the future of humankind, we can say that in upcoming years, English may even become a Universal Language - A common language of every human being.
Well, obviously we Indians would want Hindi or our native languages to be worldwide but currently the English language is holding international dominance. We saw earlier that the more elegantly wr communicate, the more are our chances to progress. Think, if every human being gets a chance to express his views in a universal language we all can understand, how grand will it be!
Come on, I know that Google Translators are enough for all this. But I see it very far away from being practical. We want a language, a common language, a universal language that can be used by every human, right from the president down to the poorest peasant. Who cares if its English, Sanskrit, Urdu or whatever?
" Efficient Communication within the society is very important to utilise the brain power of every single person of that society. It helps everyone to express their ideas which can be heard and understood by everyone. "
What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Daksh Parekh.
As usual very nice
