The Art of Character-Building - All We Need in Life.
"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."
This, right there, is the constant realisation that I'm building firmer and firmer each and every dawning day since I have started this rigorous IIT preparation. The journey can cause physical strain and mental exhaustion. But yet, each passing day I feel that it's only our mindset that brings life to all our endeavours.
We all know it and say it like parrots that hardwork brings success, struggle pays off and so on. But still no one talks about how in reality can we bear the blows of life and go through all its struggles.
Looking into the lives of greatest legends ever lived, we literally find them playing in their lives. I mean, they dealt life with such an artful ease that all the mountains of problems melted before them.
In today's blog, I will present to you all some preliminary fixes we all need in our habits in order to bring a sort of charisma to our character.
Following some practical advices that I found from a wise Russian man, I think we all will surely see immediate progress in our character development.
1. Do not divide your attention:-
Always focus on one thing. When you eat, you eat. When you listen, you listen. When you're studying or working, cut off all the potential distractions which could drive away your attention to the task in hand.
Doing this, not only will we work efficiently, but also will feel confident and naturally focused regarding our tasks.
2. Make Decision, Stick to them, Take full Responsibility:-
No substantial improvements can we see in our lives without taking tough decisions. We need to reflect on our present state of life, make decisions to maximise our performance and fully own your fate thereafter.
3. Have the Peace of God in your Actions:-
Do not talk fast, act fast. In anxiety, you are spread all over the place. All the energy is dissipated horribly.
Many many American disciples of Swami Vivekananda highly praised his melodious voice. They described it as calm yet strong and affirmative, magnetically charming and exciting yet a de-excited voice.
These are so simple traits, but are quite linked to greatness of a character.
I hope this blog will make my youths learn and practice the importance of practical character development.
Thanks,
Daksh Parekh.
